As the name suggests, the Three Hills Mountains features frequent climbs and descents. The route passes through the landscapes of Kalajanvuori, Kituvuori and Loukkuvuori.

The start and end point of the route is the Vuori‑Kalaja rest area, which has a half‑kota shelter, a campfire site and a dry toilet. Along the route you will pass Keskilahti, a landing site for paddlers equipped with a campfire site and a dry toilet. The Enonranta rest area also has a half‑kota and a dry toilet. Enonranta can be reached by both boats and kayaks. From the Kiertolahti paddling harbour there is a short distance to the Three Hills Hike.

The Majaniemi reservable hut allows overnight stays on the Three Hills Hike. The hut is located slightly off the main route, as it is not part of the national park and is only available to customers who have made a reservation.
