Suonenjoki Ski Trails

The Lintharju ski trail network offers a variety of routes, including 1 km, 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km illuminated trails. The connecting trails to Käpylä and Kolmisoppi are also lit. Additional routes lead to Vanhamäki and Iisvesi, and for those seeking a longer ski tour, the trails extend to Saunataival and, when ice conditions allow, to Saunaniemi.

The trails are illuminated until 9:00 PM, but the lights turn off if the temperature drops below –25°C.

At Onkilampi Leisure Center, there is also an illuminated 3 km trail. The Palolampi route can be skied in both directions along the marshland, whereas the LUKE route is one-way. The Saunaniemi route via Kukkura and other connecting trails can be skied in both directions. Most of Lintharju's trails are easy to navigate for skiers of all levels, but the LUKE route and Onkilampi competition trails feature more challenging ascents and descents.

Dog-friendly ski trails are available in the Onkilampi and Vanhamäki areas. The Onkilampi dog trail is accessible from the Ampumaradantie and Onkilammintie intersection, while the Vanhamäki dog trail is best accessed from the Vanhamäki Wellbeing Center parking lot.

For visitors, Onkilampi Latumaja is open during the ski season, and the Vanhamäki "Aina-auki" café operates 24/7.

There are five lean-to shelters in the Lintharju area: Alaparkki, Palolampi, Kukkura, and both lower and upper Onkilampi shelters. The city manages the firewood supply for these sites.

Parking is available at Suonenjoki Ice Hall's lower parking lot, the ski stadium parking lot (accessible from Urheilutie), and the Onkilampi outdoor area parking lot.

For current trail conditions, check the Suonenjoki sports facilities bulletin board.
