Visit Savo Tourism Environment Development Project maintains the visitsavo.fi website together with the development company SavoGrow Oy. The aim of the project is to build a popular VisitSavo nature tourism area with supporting services for the SavoGrow region, shared by six municipalities.
The project surveys the existing route networks in the municipalities, develops their digital discoverability, and prepares a plan to bind the routes and the region’s nature sites into a more accessible, year‑round and responsible nature tourism entity.
A shared regional brand significantly increases the attractiveness of the area and supports businesses in creating joint products and in testing new business ideas.
Project activities
Survey the existing route networks and their current use in the SavoGrow municipalities, and design connecting routes between these networks where possible, so that they support the businesses located along the routes.
Survey the development needs of tourism companies in the VisitSavo area and create responsible nature tourism service packages that combine different sectors in new ways, while strengthening cooperation and the VisitSavo brand.
Increase the expertise of tourism companies in responsible tourism, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of both companies and regional tourism.
Increase the digital visibility and awareness of the VisitSavo area through marketing, and improve the purchaseability of products on the VisitSavo website.
