In the heartlands of Vesanto stand 21 proudly upright “heartland posts” depicting people, animals and events.
They were designed by local residents and communities. The posts were carved by chainsaw artist Juha Käkelä according to the drawings provided.
The heartland posts are located throughout the municipality of Vesanto. The designers themselves chose the placement of each post. Some posts have been charred to highlight the pattern, while others have been painted.
Each post has its own story behind it.
