Suonenjoki
Suonenjoki is Finland’s most delicious municipality and the rightful strawberry capital. Around 7,000 people live and thrive in Suonenjoki. In summer, the town comes to life not only when the strawberries ripen but also through various seasonal events. The Strawberry Carnival, held on the second weekend of July, offers a joyful and international festival atmosphere, music, and freshly ripened strawberries.
When the sun shines as brightly as the strawberries, it is worth heading to the diverse Lintharju outdoor and leisure area, which is an ideal destination for day trips. You can slip onto the 23‑basket forest disc golf course or venture deeper into the ridges and forests along excellent mountain biking routes or nature trails, and enjoy a snack at one of the five lean‑to shelters. And if you forgot your snacks, Lintharju Sports Centre has a café serving light lunch options and treats for a sweet craving.
Suonenjoki is a lively Savonian town whose vitality comes from its cheerful, energetic and creative residents. The Aulis Jalkanen ITE art museum showcases the artist’s remarkable world and treasure trove of creativity. Art enthusiasts can also visit the Kellarikalleria summer exhibitions located in the town centre.
Finland’s most delicious municipality warmly welcomes leisure residents and visitors!
