Suonenjoki Beaches

Kaatro

The central and most popular swimming beach in the city is Iso Kaatro. The pond has clear water and an area of 2 km². Its deepest point is about 14 metres.

The beach has changing huts, two piers and a diving tower. The water slide can be activated by pressing a button between 6:00 and 22:00; one press provides about six minutes of water flow. At the opposite end of the pond there is a fenced shallow swimming area.

On the upper level there are two beach volleyball courts. A WC is located next to the parking area.

Kokkolampi

Kokkolampi is a peat‑bottomed pond with brownish‑coloured water. The beach has a pier, a changing hut and a WC available during the summer. A rug‑washing station is located next to the swimming area.

Jauhojärvi

Due to its shallow shoreline, Jauhojärvi is a child‑friendly beach. There is also an accessible ramp that allows entry into the water, even with the help of a rollator. A changing hut and a WC (during the swimming season) are available at the beach.

Iisvesi

There is a swimming beach at the Iisvesi harbour. The beach is shallow and protected by a breakwater. There is a beach volleyball court and children’s playground equipment at the beach.
