Vanhamäki

Vanhamäki is a versatile center that offers idyllic and affordable room accommodation on the shore of Lake Jauhojärvi. Guests have access to shared WC and shower facilities as well as an electric sauna in the main building. There is also a small kitchen available where guests can store their own food and prepare simple meals.

In the courtyard area, a weekday lunch restaurant serves visitors. The always‑open self‑service café offers specialty coffee from a small roastery, delicious ice creams, and filling snacks around the clock. Rowing boats and kayaks located by the shore are free for guests to use. Children can enjoy the wonderful Metsämansikka playground, and next to it there is a grill hut and a lean‑to shelter with firewood available for overnight guests.

In the same courtyard, you will find Wanhamäki Stables, Fitness Center Timmi, the Savo Cycles bicycle rental service, and the Suonenjoki Hiking Association’s equipment rental. The Suonenjoki mountain biking route network is directly accessible from the yard. In winter, a dog‑friendly ski trail starts from the same area.

Vanhamäki is easily reached from Highway 9, and the services of Suonenjoki’s town center are about 3 km away. The well‑being center is located in a rural lakeside setting, and the pier offers access to swimming in the clear waters of Lake Jauhojärvi. A lakeside sauna is available for rent on the shore.
