Tyyrinvuori Environmental and Nature Trail

The Tyyrinvuori environmental and nature trail is located on the peninsula between Lakes Lonkarin, Äijävesi and Rautalampi, about two kilometres from the Rautalampi municipal centre. The route passes through an area with diverse geology, vegetation and wildlife.

In addition to natural structures and phenomena, the trail also highlights forestry practices and their effects on forest nature and landscape. The trail’s information boards also present the economic and cultural history of the area, making it well suited for educational purposes.

The total length of the trail is 3.3 km, of which approximately 1 kilometre is accessible.

Parking: At the beginning of Peurasuontie there is a gravel‑surfaced lay‑by on the left side of the road. From there it is a short walk to the trail.
