Suonenjoki River Trail

The River Trail (Jokipolku), running from Siioninsilta to Iisvesi, is an 8.6‑kilometre nature trail with information boards describing the river environment. Along the trail there are several lean‑to shelters and campfire sites.

The route is accessible from Siioninsilta to Purola.

The River Trail can be walked in either direction, and the easiest access points are from the south end of Lake Kimpanlampi or from the Iisvesi harbour. The river is also excellent for paddling.

How to Access the trail

The best access points are Siioninsilta, the south end of Kimpanlampi or the Iisvesi harbour.
There is also a connecting path from Suonenjoki town centre.
A separate paddling route guide is available for paddlers and works on mobile phones.

It is also worth getting to know Suonenjoki’s free city boats.
The boats are stored along the river near the town centre.
