The local Mushroom Association aims to increase knowledge of mushrooms, promote their practical use, and support the protection of mushroom habitats.
The association’s mushroom advisors in Suonenjoki have created a 2‑kilometre Mushroom Trail that presents 11 mushroom species found in the area.
The walking route circles Kyöpelinvuori and follows an easy ski‑track base. The direction does not matter — the trail can be walked in either direction.
