Patovesi Loop Trail

The Patovesi Loop is an approximately 8 km circular route in Vesanto. The route, clearly marked with yellow signs, is easy to walk as it follows mainly gravel roads and forest roads. The starting point is along Sonkarintie, at the Tiitilänkylä swimming beach. There is a sign by the road pointing to the beach and the trail. At the parking area, there is a mailbox where you can take a map presenting the numbered points of interest along the route. The map also provides information about the area’s history. Near the end of the route, you can find ITE artworks by Kimmo Hakala.

Although the trail mostly follows roads, it is still enjoyable to walk. Along the way you can admire historical buildings, beautiful old trees, birds from the birdwatching tower, an old spring and a “snake spruce.” Do you know what a snake spruce is? The trail also features diverse and lush vegetation.

Snacks can be enjoyed either halfway at the campfire site near the birdwatching tower or at the grill shelter at the swimming beach at the end of the route. Both locations also have outdoor toilets.

The Patovesi Loop is a pleasant and easy day trip destination.
