The Northern Pielavesi route initially follows the lakeside scenery of the built-up area before climbing up to Honkamäki hill.
In the early part of the route, there is some asphalt road before reaching the gravel roads typical to the area.

Before the halfway point, the route passes through the areas of Löytynmäki and Venetmäki,
which are also part of the Mäkien kylät (village's of the hills) cycling routes,
where you can find stories about the villages’ history accessible via QR codes along the route.

After Venetmäki, the route continues through villages along gravel roads crossing fields towards Eskelinkoski, and
there you will also find a lean-to shelter at Eskelinkoski by the Lampaanjoki River.

Soon after the shelter, a longer climb begins towards Heinämäki, where beautiful open field landscapes unfold in several directions.
From there, after a short section of asphalt road, the route continues along a smaller, winding gravel road back towards the centre of Pielavesi.
Before returning to the centre, the hill from the beginning of the route can then be enjoyed as a descent.

A moderately demanding route for an active cyclist.
