Luontoon Komoot Outdooractive Ride With GPS

The route starts near the Suonenjoki sports centre and first takes you along ski trail bases through the Lintharju terrain.
The trail bases run on an esker landscape, making them quite firm and easy to ride.

At around five kilometres, you cross the narrow bridge over the Suonenjoki River at Notkola.
About 500 metres from there is Myllykosken Kievari inn, where accommodation is available.
There is also an open grill hut in the inn’s yard area where anyone can take a break.

The route continues along the Suonenjoki River via Petsamo towards Karsikonmäki.
About halfway up Karsikonmäki, the route turns onto the first longer forest road section towards Mustolanmäki.
From the top of Mustolanmäki, there are beautiful views over the strawberry fields towards Lake Iisvesi.

From below Mustolanmäki, the route becomes winding and undulating towards the village of Kärkkäälä.
The route includes narrow forest roads as well as slightly wider state roads.
After a short asphalt section, the route turns onto Petäisentie and crosses the narrow Pitkä-Petäinen via a small bridge.

After the Petäinen loop, the route briefly returns to Kärkkääläntie and then turns onto Ratapohjantie,
which, as the name suggests, follows the base of an old railway line.
From about halfway along Ratapohja, you can take a short detour to the ITE-Aulis home museum, which is open during summer.

The route returns to Suonenjoki, crossing the river via the Purola bridge.
