The Kerkonkoski Loop is a cycle touring route with several rest stops along the way. It is well suited for a day trip.

The loop passes by several rest areas, making it ideal for a one‑day ride. The rest stops are:

• Iisvesi lakeside pavilion at 5 km

• Nokinen kiosk at 16 km

• Kerkonkosken Keidas at 28 km

• Restaurant Nuapuri at 47 km

• Koskelon Travel Centre at 60 km

At Nokisenkoski, fishing is also possible, and fishing permits can be purchased from the kiosk.

The route itself is not technically demanding and follows paved roads for the entire distance, but its length provides a challenge for cyclists. The best part of the route is the section between Kerkonkoski and Rautalampi, where the road is narrower and more winding, and there is more countryside scenery and lakes along the roadside.

The route is not marked in the terrain, so it is important to read the route instructions before starting. Since the route follows public roads, traffic should be taken into account.

The loop can also be completed in a shorter version, turning left onto Rautalammintie after Nokisenkoski. The road leads to Rautalampi, from where you continue left toward Suonenjoki.
